Hurricane Day

Publication1When I was a kid, we looked forward to getting snow days in northwest Ohio. The roads would be too bad for the buses to run.

Or sometimes we’d get a fog day. Those were even better. It was too dangerous for the buses to drive through it in the early morning, and by the time it cleared sometimes it was too late to start school.

Now, as an adult, I get to have a hurricane day. Two even!

There’s definitely flooding in the area, but nothing too bad where I am. I do hope everyone can stay as safe as possible, and that there isn’t too much damage in general

Aside from that, I can’t say I’ve been spending my unexpected day off in the carefree ways I would have in my youth. Instead I’ve been sleeping a lot to try to encourage a cold to go away. I’ve also been working: grading papers, creating lesson plans. I’ve been doing a lot of procrastinating too. My mind just hasn’t wanted to focus. My brain has that cold fog around it.

But it’s been nice to have a catch-up day, especially since I’m sick.

Annnnnnd, I just learned that we are off tomorrow too. Five day weekend! So I guess I can get caught up on some stuff slowly over the weekend. Yay!!

Now I’m feeling that school kid joy!

Everyone stay safe.
