I am a 200-hour yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance (RYT 200).
I’ve been practicing yoga for nearly 15 years, and I finally took the plunge to add yoga to my teaching repertoire this summer (Summer 2017).
Yoga was my first introduction to meditation and mindfulness. It helped me quiet my mind through the stresses of graduate school, an unhealthy marriage, and ultimately divorce. It has continued to help me cope with daily stresses and feel more mentally healthy.
I love the physicality of an asana practice, but I love that while practicing you must remain in the moment to best hold the postures.
I think of my style of yoga as “Peaceful Power.” The body contains a lot of power if all muscles are engaged in each pose and you breathe through the asanas in a controlled way. No need to race and rush.
I currently teach Power Yoga Monday evenings, 5:30-6:45, at Peace of Yoga in St. Petersburg, FL.
I hope you’ll join me for a practice sometime. If you aren’t in the area, I hope you’ll give yoga a go!
