2025 Bad Poet: Day 10

  • by

Today’s prompt was to write about something extraordinary in an ordinary place. Or something huge and otherworldly. Or something miniscule, shimmering, strange. I went with the latter. And I’m sharing my “rebellion” daily drawing.

dirty concrete
and trash flittering
my collar is up and
the hairs on my face
seek refuge from the cold

tears caused by wind
or fear
cloud my view

and then I fumble
and catch
the smallest of doors
recessed in brick
almost missed because of
flittering trash

warm cozy light peeks
through the tiny window
it doesn’t matter
I’m on the sidewalk along
a city street

I lie on my belly and peek
Tears jump from my eyes
at the beauty of this tiny world

a whole new universe

What connects with you? How does this make you feel?
