Today’s prompt was to write about the perfect day. Technically, this is a perfect half day, along with my “backwards” daily drawing. My perfect day also involves fewer of those hats…
my eyes flutter open
by the soft light
of the sun
I draw and write
I check the news:
36,500 days since
the last war or genocide
I go into the garden &
say hi to neighbors
Our harvest is almost
ready to share
Soon the community will
arrive for our teach-in:
reading, writing
science, math, history,
philsophy, art music
We weave the tapestry
of learning together
I return home for
a nap and a dream
about our new world
where there’s room to thrive
