Today’s prompt was to “fill the well.” Meaning do something that helps to fill your spirit or rejuvenate you. Something to help revive your creativity. Or to create a list of what helps to fill the well. Below is my poem on this, as well as my “family” daily drawing.

I send the bucket down
scraping bottom again
Mouth parched
Lips dry
I’ve depleted the
aquifer again
I crave the rains
This time I’ll
set out barrels
And buckets
and a bottle or two
Who’s knocking?
A friend with a
watering can!
And now a friend
with a bucket
A few more arrive
I laugh
as the tears stream down my face
We all drink
while talking and laughing
Soon enough
they are gone again
leaving their gifts
I visit the well
just to see
I sent the bucket
down again
It’s filled to the brim
