According to Douglas Adams, I’ve reached the answer to life, the universe, and everything.
That seems appropriate with the craziness and instability Covid-19 has caused. The answer only makes sense if you know what the question is.
And, man, do I have a lot of questions now… Most of them revolving around how we can get out from under the boots of an oppressive economical and political system that no longer serves us.

Anyhoo…
A little over a month ago, I was really excited about my upcoming 42nd birthday. I was going to plan a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy party, and go partying with my towel in a bathrobe with my besties.
I had to answer the question of my birthday a little differently this year. I treated myself to ice cream birthday cake and filet mignon. I made surgical masks and worked on my new-to-me antique sewing machine. (I wound a bobbin! Getting close to a full test drive!) I drew some of my assignments for the online art class I signed up for. I listened to the rain and the thunder. I watched more episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
One of the key messages from Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is: “Don’t Panic.” It says so right on the cover!

So, I’m taking that as on of the themes of this birthday. Don’t panic.
And from my Sketchbook Skool art class: Wonky is good.
So far being 42 has been pretty uneventful. It’s been wonky. I haven’t been panicking. But I’ve made it good. I hope I can maintain this attitude whatever comes my way this year.
Wishing you healthy, safety, and sanity.
