A Good School Year

Aack! The students come back to school tomorrow!! I’m not sure I’m ready.

I guess I’m as ready as I’m going to be…

I have a plan. But my projector may not be working due to technical issues. I’m not sure.

I have enough chairs for everyone now. Even though a lot of them are duct taped so students don’t get snagged on them.

This was the worst offender. Though at least half of my chairs required some duct tape.

I just finished making a seating chart so students start with some stability.

I already found my first typo of the school year. I titled my Chemistry syllabus as Biology… Oops.

My room is rated by the Fire Marshall for an occupancy of 21. My largest (chemistry) class has 38 students. A little nervous about that, considering I’m primarily teaching Chemistry.

The post-it note has my class sizes as of Monday.

Even with the hiccups and the things that have become systemic to public education, I feel good about tomorrow. I don’t know if I feel ready, but I feel good. I’m excited to meet my students.

It’s going to be a good year.
