A solution to cat (and other) drama

A story

He picked his moment and ran. Through the door and past legs. Into the lair.

The Beast was right there and gave him a sniff. He realized the situation, turned and looked behind him, and dashed out as quickly as he entered. Growls and hissing followed him out, and the furless companion closed the door before the Beast could follow.

Five seconds. It couldn’t have been any more time than that. Just five seconds.

But the growls and hissing persisted. The furless companion cracked open the door and talked sweet to the Beast, but nothing could assuage her. Someone entered her territory unpermitted, and anxiety and rage coursed from ears to tail.

She scratched at the door, demanding reparations for the wrongs done to her by her brother entering her realm unwelcomed and uninvited. Scratch, scratch, scratch. Yooooooooooooooooooooooowl. Scratch, scratch.

Into the early hours of the morning. Into the next day.

Eventually she allowed the furless companion back into the room. She accepted skritches and snuggles.

All was right with the world.

Background

I have a cat that has panic attacks if my other cat(s) enter the room. And Vélo, my male, black cat, snuck past my legs when I was going in to see her. The story you just read is basically what happened.

Talk about over-reacting.

Bubo is better now. It’s still so surprising how upset she gets from this sort of thing. She has her own room, and I visit her throughout the day.

Anyhoo, with things like that happening in our personal lives, coupled with larger world issues, what can we do to manage our own stress and anxiety?

One idea!

I know it won’t solve everything, but I do know that creating art can really help get emotions out. Or help to take our minds off of them for a bit. One way or the other, it helps. And I’d love for you to come play with me on April 22!! The cost is only $10, and I’ll guide you through a unique creating experience.

One that will take your mind off of the Beast making you lose a night of sleep because her cat-brother was in her room for 5 seconds. 😂
