Today’s prompt was to write or paint the same subject in 3 different ways. This connected to the idea of images that we can come back to time and again with fresh eyes. I semi-cheated today. I wrote a poem, and I’m sharing older visual works too.

I don’t know where it came from
I was never one of those
Lisa Frank girls
all pink, puppies, and unicorns
But now I crave
hearts
and love
time
and
again
usually not
pink, puppies, and unicorns
no
something deeper,
darker,
shinier
but still satisfying
the needs of my
inner child
Processing
Sometimes when I look at some of my works, I am a little surprised. Because I wasn’t a girly girl as a kid. Nor am I one now. Yet, hearts or love are in a lot of my art pieces. It’s something I do come back to in various forms.
