Bad Poet 2026: Day 17

  • by

The Prompt

Today our prompt was to write about a good party. (Featured pic is from my birthday last year.)

The Poem

chill conversations
over dinner
coffee
beers

laughter
stories
tears
if the occasion calls

lifting each other up
with honesty
with joy

making art
roller skating
a bike ride
or a hike

laughter
stories
tears
if the occasion calls

lifting each other up
with play
with love

Processing

I’m not a big party person, so this poem was hard to start until I realized that it’s ok if my idea of a celebration is different than some (most?) people’s. How about you? What’s your ideal celebration or version of a party?

How can you support my creative work?

Buy me a brew!
If we were together, and I read you my poem, you might want to buy me a brew. Coffee at a shop is $5. A beer at a pub is $8. Any amount would be appreciated and well used!
