Bad Poet 2026: Day 9

  • by

The Prompt

The prompt for today was to write the first line of different poems. Maybe I’ll revisit them and flesh them out.

The First Lines

  • tears poured when I saw that glitter of a ghost
  • 50 pounds of extra mass
  • smiles, simultaneous with a supernova of grief
  • was it all a mistake pulling up roots
  • life speeds by at the pace
of a snail and a rat in turn

Processing

Are any of these good first lines? Which full poem should I write from these starts? What poem would you write from the starts?

Enjoy what you’ve read and want to support my art business?

Buy me a brew!
If we were together, and I read you my poem, you might want to buy me a brew. Coffee at a shop is $5. A beer at a pub is $8. Any amount would be appreciated and well used! And let’s continue the conversation! Share your thoughts in the comments!
