You Are Beautiful

  • by

One of the things I get verybeating up frustrated about is hearing people beat themselves up. I have too many friends and family members who do this. I really wish that they could see the beautiful person that I see. I wish when the negative thoughts come up (e.g. “I’m too fat,” “I could never do that,” “I’m not smart enough,” etc…) surface, that they could hear my voice in response.

“You are beautiful.”
“If I can do it, you can too.”
You are enough.
You are enough.

A Little Magic

It’s really amazing how simple it is to brighten someone’s day.

I go to Nicko’s Diner pretty often. It’s close, the food is good, and so is the service. Since often go by myself, I sit at the counter along with anyone else who might be there.Read More »A Little Magic

I have a four-day training next week, and my school starts up for pre-planning on the 17th. So I’ve been trying to get out and do some fun activities before the madness begins in a couple of weeks.

Not that I won’t do fun stuff when the madness does begin, but I’ll have to be more mindful about when I do them.

So today it was off to the Florida Aquarium for me. They offer free admission to teachers all of the time, which is really nice of them.Read More »Afternoon at the Aquarium

Afternoon at the Zoo

  • by

After the nearly month of rain we’ve had in the Tampa Bay area, I needed to get out of the house. The Lowry Park Zoo is offering free entry for teachers through August 16, and a trip to the zoo sounded like just the thing!

The gibbons were putting on quite a show when I first arrived.
