Day 10 Creations:

The Bad Poetry prompt for today was to write for, with, or to: a younger version of you, a future version of you, or all selves in one spot. I created one poem to younger and one to future me.

dear younger me,

I wish I could remember
happy times
Or at least more happy times

A few pop through the veil
from time to time
The veil of numbness,
boredom, or
outright pain

But it’s a fog that I search through,
Always reaching,
rarely finding purchase.

❤️ me

dear future me

I hope you’re proud of me

I hope we’ve lived
a life of service
connected with joy

I hope we’ve lived
a life challenging
our beliefs
and assumptions

That we fought oppression
and fascists’ asses
every step of the way

I hope we’ve lived a life of
connection, fun, and love

❤️ me

I learned that yesterday was the start of the Year of the Wood Dragon in the Lunar New Year. I’m not sure if what I drew is a wood dragon, but I love their colors!

How do these connect with you?
