Day 7-100 Day Challenge

  • by

Not too much to report today. Still nice to not have to think about what to wear. A change of undies, put on the bike shorts, and throw on my Wool& Camellia dress. It’s been a week. I’ve ridden my bike 30+ miles in it. I’ve stomped around my yard and even hauled a curbside Christmas tree back to my house (via my wheelbarrow). Dress is still fine to wear without a wash.

I got up at a decent time this morning. I practiced meditation, and I wrote in my journal for a few minutes. While looking out the window, I caught a picture of my front yard. My neighbor mowed his yard yesterday. I felt like I was going to have to mow too, because these tall, daisy-like flowers (really oakleaf fleabane, Erigeron qurcifolious) remain. They are a native “weed,” but I like them. The actual grass hasn’t gotten long yet, and the bees and moths are loving the fleabane. I’m going to put off mowing as long as possible, even if the yard does look wild. I someday want to more formally landscape it into a fully native butterfly and bee garden. I guess I’m just getting a headstart!

It was a little cool this morning, so I started the day with a hoodie on. My naked, buzzed head makes me feel the cold more than normal.

I had a busy work day, but one of the nice things about working for home is that you can sneak a nap during your lunch break. This is me a few minutes after I woke up.

I guess my cat wasn’t ready to get up from his nap. He’s hiding. (Say hello to Vélo.)

I was the main facilitator for a meeting in the evening. It went Ok. Not perfect, but why do we even aim for that?

Now I’m typing, and I’m going to make some art.

One week down, 13ish to go!
