A busy and challenging work day today. So I didn’t do a yard photo hunt today. Wearing the Wool& Camellia dress is still easy, and I’ll admit that I still haven’t washed it. This sounds gross, but I do a pit smell test each morning. I’m going to keep wearing it without washing until the dress no longer passes that test. On top of being made of more sustainable materials, I guess it’s also helping preserve water from not having to wash it so much.
Yesterday after I finished work, I decided to create art. I fell into Sculpd Pottery via an Instagram ad, I believe. (I really need to resist temptation. Though I suppose there are worse things I could spend my money on.) I’ve enjoyed getting to play with air-dry clay as a medium, to accompany the many other ways I like to make art. My projects are simple, yet they are bringing me joy. Working with a 3 dimensional medium is a different experience, for sure. Maybe it’s just that it’s new, but there is a sense of accomplishment with a finished piece.
I made the mushroom house and the heart on the right last night. The mushroom house is three to four inches tall. They still need to dry and be painted. I finally painted the middle heart on the 18th after leaving it sitting for a bit. Sculpd has a monthly contest, and the theme is “spring.” Along with world events, I thought it was fitting. It’s sitting in my window, and it just glows…
I’m looking forward to painting the new projects when they dry, especially the little house. It’s already so cute.
I identify with being a multipotentialite, and I’ve learned that creating is one of the things that helps to keep me sane. I rotate through a lot of different methods of creating: calligraphy, leather craft, whittling, painting & mixed media art, card making, sewing. I even have a shop on here, if you want to check it out. I need to add some new stuff to it!
Wishing you healing, love, and creativity today!
