This week I get to submit my entries for the Tampa Arts Council 5×5 event. Artists from around the world (!!) create 5”x5”(x5” potentially) pieces of art. The art is then sold anonymously for $25 at a fundraising event at the Tampa Museum of Art, and money goes towards grants to support artists through the Tampa Arts Council.
Last year I created two mosaics.

This year I’ve been playing with paint, so I decided to create two 5”x5” paintings. I based them off of pictures I had taken, and I got some Facebook feedback from friends on which pictures I should use. Below are the winning pictures:

I’m still a novice painter, but I’m pretty pleased with the way they turned out. I hope they both sell at the event… ![]()
Thank you to my Facebook friends for helping me pick out the pictures. The flower was much harder for me, but I’m still pleased with it.
