Day 10 Poem: July 13

I strap sandals
to my feet
but no wings
have these

Today Mercury flies
on wheels
calceamenta volubilem*
libero lapsus*

Flying round and round
a time machine
back to lower
center of gravity

*I was trying to be clever with Latin. The first means “rolling shoes,” the second “free fall.”
