I’ve had a decent mix of exploring, creating, and relaxing since I got settled down here. The ratio has probably been a little heavier on the exploring and relaxing components.
But I’ve started working on some projects I’ve had in mind too.
My first project I’ve had in mind nearly since I bought this little wrought iron bistro set back at the end of 2013. The plan was to repaint it, since it was in need. I also love the heart shape in the back of the chairs, and I wanted to paint them red. My wish has become actuality now!
Phase 2 of my bistro set improvement project is to create mosaics on the plexiglass portions of the table. I’ve begun collecting the glass, which will complement that cushions. Stage 2 will take awhile…
I’ve also given more thought to creating the Living Daringly Etsy page to sell my different creative projects: art, jewelry, leather work, mosaics. (first written about here) I do have products I could put on the page now, but I’ve been holding off. The thought of becoming an entrepreneur is a little daunting though… I guess that’s probably what has been holding me back. I’ll definitely get myself over that mental hurdle before the end of summer!
I’ve also had the Living Daringly book in the back of my mind. It was something I thought I wanted to do while I was working on my Ph.D. Now, I’m wondering if I waited too long. I feel like I don’t know what the story is, even though it is my own. I don’t know if I can find something that is strong enough to be interesting. I’m not sure if I want to keep looking back, though the story also involves looking forward. Maybe in the coming weeks I’ll gain some perspective for this too. Largely I feel like I have a lot of the book done, through my journaling and blogging. It’s just putting the pieces together. I guess I just have to do it if it is still a goal.
And, at some point I will have to do some prep. work for my real job. Maybe…
Until then, I’m enjoying puttering and taking a lot of pictures. Last night I got a few good ones, including one of a dragon flying by!! I even met some new friends on the way! (Human ones, not the bird.)
I do love that about St. Pete. You go for a walk, and you end up having a nice conversation with a complete stranger. Sometimes it’s a passing thing, and sometimes you exchange contact information. Cool stuff, and I’ve only been here for 18 days!
So I’m reveling in the now with my various projects, and I’m also thinking towards the future and where I want to take Living Daringly.
It’s a good summer! I hope yours is too!
