Self Promotion

  • by

I like to make stuff. Lots of stuff. Leather goods, bike chain ornaments, watercolor and acrylic paintings, mixed media art, calligraphy, jewelry, mosaics…

For a long time I’ve thought about selling some of the things I make. I have sold some of the things I make! But I haven’t put consistent effort into it.

Well, I’ve stayed consistent with creating art, but not with the selling.

I keep coming back to thinking I’d like to sell my art, or at least put it out to the universe. Yet the idea of self-promoting my art holds me back. I don’t want to come off like a sales person with putting my wares out into social media-land and through blogging about them. I don’t want to come off as pushy and needy.

But how will anyone ever be able to buy my art and crafts if I don’t put it out there?

So I’m going to do it. Among my other social media posts and blogs I’m going to invest energy into promoting my art.

I will try to do it in a way that feels authentic. I will try to do it in a way that doesn’t turn folks off from following me in the various ways they might.

Art is part of my life, and I hope my art ends up finding the people who gain joy or … well … something good from it.

Oh, yeah. I have a shop on this site too. I’ll be updating it soon, but check out some of my goodies! And you can contact me at christy@livingdaringly.com if you are interested in my art cards.

Thank you for your support!
