Oh, bittersweet endings. Yesterday was the last day of the 2016 Listening Room Festival.

I was first introduced to his songs on Monday at the Listening Room Festival‘s Meet the Artists event (more here). I knew I liked him when he opened with a subversively bawdy song, “She Whistles When She Walks,” and closed with a moving and serious song, “Big Time.”

Oh what a musical January I’ve had! (here, here, and here). I even had a last minute drop in to the country, Western opening act (Michael Claytor & Sam Moss) to The Hideaway Cafes Soul Saturday last night.
Interesting to have a country, Western group before a soul show. Also hilarious. I particularly liked the song about a man marrying an alien.

I enjoyed a lovely birthday weekend. I visited with friends Friday night. Saturday I had a class on Classroom Management, but after I met up with some of my house concert family and experienced Matt Bednarsky‘s music live for the first time.
