Day 9 Creations:
After doing something to “help feel connected, aligned, and fulfilled” (i.e. playing with my cats), I wrote this. The overall prompt was to do the above (not necessarily with cats) and then write without judgment. And to post it. We have an online group where we share our poems and writings. While creating these is outside of my comfort zone, I’ve still been sharing them. Some folks in the challenge have been holding back, filled with fear and imposter syndrome. Even though the challenge is titled “Bad Poetry.” So I hope they took this extra piece of encouragement and shared their work too!!
You know it’s going to be a good poem when it’s about cats!! 😉
It reads:
I chose not to
have children
Child FREE!
not child less
My pets are my
adopted fur family
Currently 3 cats
Oh, they make me smile
with their purrs & cuddles
& shenanigans
Freeing my heart
Connecting me with
Joy
I really connect with the term Child Free.
I can’t remember where I first heard/learned that. But it definitely fits me better!
